While classes are recurring on a weekly or other basis, events have a set date which they occur. You can create and edit events and private sessions in Setup/Events.  Events show on the studio website as do other classes. Signup, waitlists, cancellation support all work for events in that same way they are supported for classes.
* Frequency:  Events should the 'Once' frequency setting and not weekly
* Private: if you don't want the event to show on the student website, select the 'Private' checkbox.

Events are like classes, the difference is that they only occur once.  Other than that they show on the studio website as do other events and signup, waitlists, cancellation support.  All those features are supported in the same way.
