Be aware of how you can run safe classes online. For background, google "Zoom bombing".

To help, we've added some Zoom settings you can use to disable common ways in which hackers use to disrupt Zoom classes. Note that these are not Taramala settings, these are settings to change within Zoom.

Guidelines for Running Safe Classes

  • Always password protect your classes so that only your students can get in.
  • Use the Zoom waiting room. This is an added manual step where you can review and only admit students that you are expecting.
  • Disable screen sharing for your Zoom classes. Another important setting which prevents "zoom bombers" from disrupting an online meeting.
