Reporting

Taramala allows you to build reports using charts and tables in the following areas:

• Payments: allow you to trend payment information over weeks, months or years, breaking down where your income is coming from.
• Attendance: allow you to track how the studio is doing through charts that look at attendance at a specific time or track changes in attendance over the years.
• Teacher: check how teachers are doing with average class size or use a chart to help calculate how much to pay them based on factors such as the number of classes, or attendance or average class size.

Reporting is offered with the STANDARD plan.

How to build reports

Reports can be controlled in three different ways.

• Dates: on the top right is a date filter where you pick the time frame to report on. Many presets, such as 'Last Month' are available to aid in this process though you can also use idioms such as '8m' meaning the last 8 months or '3y' meaning the last three years. Or you can directly enter an exact date range.
• Filters: on the left are a number of filters that allow you report directly on a specific type of class or a specific teacher for example.

Whenever you change the dates or filters, the reports are updated.

Using reporting to pay teachers

Taramala provides a chart in the 'Teachers' section that can be used to calculate how much to pay your teachers.

• Navigate to 'Reports'/'Teachers'
• Select the time period (i.e. 'Last Month')
• Scroll down to the 'Teacher by Class by Date' report or table.

The chart first groups all attendance in the time period by teacher, then by class then by the date of the class. The date line provides the attendence count for that class. Averages by teacher and teacher/class are also provided to track how your teachers are doing.

Exporting data for a report

Each chart or table contains button to allow you to export the data in the report as a CSV file.

Use of detail data

The bottom chart contains the detail data (i.e. payments or attendance), that was used to build these reports. Whenever you change the date or filters, reports this detail data will be updated. In some cases where you need more control over the type of report you want, you can export this data to a spreadsheet and manipulate it there.
